Tassie Whites Super Six

Tasmania’s cool-climate offers a paradise for viticulturalists and winemakers. You too rarely get to try them but here’s a terrific trio of Tasmanian whites we think you’re going to love. Enjoy a Trophy-winning, Gold, 94pt classic cool climate Chardonnay bursting with flavour, from Lost Fram a Tasmania endeavour set up by fifth-generation South Australian winemaker and grape grower Richard Angove, who fell in love with the Tamar Valley while working vintage here in 2008. Then try a Tassie organic Riesling with lovely intensity of flavour with a seam of minerality, from Tamar Valley's Small Wonder winery, certified organic in 2022. Third in this striking trio is a 91pt “appealing” (Halliday) Gris with “inviting aromas of crunchy nashi pear, citrus & green apple” from 5-star Holm Oak a superb family winery. They like their Pinot here, (Noir and Gris) even the family’s pet pig is called Pinot.
