Aged Reds Super Six
Save a hefty $154 on high-scoring, 8-10 year old reds, most senior of which is a delicious 95pt 2016 Cab Shiraz blend from Aussie wine legend, Ben Glaetzer. Ben describes this as ‘the apex’ of his Langhorne Creek wines.
Then there’s a very impressive duo from 2018 – first Allinda’s ‘Cabernets’, “an excellent Bordeaux blend from the Yarra” which “… still has a decade ahead of it and benefits from the time already spent in the cellar. 94pts” (WinePilot). It’s 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot, and is “bold and robust” and “wonderfully weighted” (Wine Orbit). Lastly, Leogate’s Brokenback Shiraz is a 92pt Shiraz flagship worthy of Leogate's top 5 Red Star rating. 2018 was a near perfect Hunter Valley vintage – and the wine boasts “… polished fresh leather, lingering across the tangy seams. A very solid wine from a superb vintage...” (Halliday).
