The Wine
w/o is Sicilian winemaker Dino Taschetta's ambitious project. He’s a man who likes a mission – and likes seeing them through. Here Dino champions native Frappato, all grown organically thanks to Sicily's warm, dry climate and Dino's diligence. It's bottled in 100% recycled glass too, known as 'wild' glass. You may notice a little variation in colour, perhaps a few tiny bubbles. All part of the charm. "The w/o signifies “without compromise” and this organic number is lighter in style but not in impact. Cherry and red fruits come through on the nose with hints of spice and earthy notes, while the palate is juicy and fresh – marked by the crisp acidity of Italian wines that work so well with food. There’s enough tannins for body and is another that would benefit from a light chill" (John Lehmann, The Australian). Try chilled solo, or with pizza or pesto pasta.
