The Wine
Quarter Horse is a classic Aussie blend of ripe, curranty Cabernet and spicy liquorice Shiraz, well ripened in Victorian vineyards. It's the work of winemaker Andrew Byers, a talented guy who first thought he'd become a professional golf player, but decided after a stretch of work experience at the famous Villa Maria winery, that his talents lay in wine. His dad was mightily relieved! This is rich, ripe red – supple and fruity enough to enjoy on its own, but spot on, too, with marinated lamb shanks or some melt in the mouth pulled pork.
