Kilikanoon's ever-popular and successful Prodigal Grenache boasts multiple high scores for this 2023 vintage. Mike Bennie in The Halliday Wine Companion praising its: "Attractive, lighter-weight red cherry characters amongst garam masala spice characters, a touch of sandalwood and turned earth, lifted, light minty notes – all up very attractive, pure feeling and fine boned… Elegant and fine-boned… with plenty going on. 95pts. Great Value.”
For Ray Jordan WinePilot, it’s <“deliciously flavoursome…94pts”, while Sam Kim, Wine Orbit finds it: "Wonderfully fruited and inviting, the bouquet shows Black Doris plum, thyme, game, and elegant oak characters with a lovely floral overtone. It's equally appealing in the mouth, delivering succulent fruit intensity with fleshy texture and fine-grained tannins, finishing splendidly long and expansive. 94pts”
Kilikanoon, Halliday's 'Winery of the Year' 2013, first rose to prominence in 2002, scooping six of seven Trophies at the Clare Valley Show. Set up in 1997 by Kevin Mitchel, who has since moved on, Kilikanonn's winemaking is now led by Peter Warr.
