Two-time Double Gold-winning Camino de Seda from Jumilla – and pretty much the whole case in fact – reflects the long-standing relationships our club has built with growers and winemakers, often making the wines alongside them. The 2020 Ermita de San Lorenzo Gran Seleccion is another from a family-run vineyard, this time from the small but mighty area in northern Spain called Campo de Borja. “It’s a big call, but I’m tempted to ask - is there anybody that can age wines in such a fantastic way better than Spain?” says Spanish buyer Sarah Everden. “I think that's why the Ermita de San Lorenzo often gets so many medals and callouts." The 2020 boasts two Golds, a Double Gold and 90pts.

The 2019 La Cantera Reserva Carinena is the result of decades of collaboration with a co-operative winemaker, Bodegas San Valero, in the region next door to Rioja. Finally, we had to add some Rioja just for context, but not just any old wine. “The Bujanda family we call ‘Rioja royalty’, five generations of winemakers and it’s nice to see different members of the family actively involved,” says Sarah. “Here we're going for that fresher, fruitier style, very much from the Rioja heartland.”
