Boasting two Gold medals and scores of 93 and 92pts, Elena Brooks' Lion's Roar of Barossa Cabernet comes from old vines planted between Seppeltsfield Road and Marananga in the Barossa, on ancient red soils and rocks ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon.
“Cabernet sauvignon sourced from old vines in the western Barossa; aged in French oak (30%) new for 14 months. Deep crimson with punchy blackberry, blackcurrant and black cherry aromas cut with hints of baking spices, olive tapenade, earth, charcuterie, sage, licorice and dark soy. Bright and detailed on the palate with tight, sandy tannins, bright acidity and sprightly cadence finishing taut, pure and grainy. 92pts.” (Dave Brookes, The Halliday Wine Companion).
