Soave is a classic among Italy's great dry white wines – with delicately nuanced fruit, creamy body and a stony freshness that helps the wine age gracefully. It “deserves the kind of acclaim white Burgundy gets” says expert Jancis Robinson.
Colle Marianna is a glorious expression and the creation of local star winemaker Antonio Fattori. Wine Advocate calls him, “one of the most talented winemakers in Veneto… his white Soave expressions are true standouts”. Antonio's pursuit of excellence leads him to the slopes of Monte Calvarina, where he searches out finest Garganega vines. Thriving in the volcanic soils, they lend a radiant minerality to the wine. The grape bunches must all be picked by hand on the steep mountain foothills of the Veneto. Hard work, but it means only the best fruit makes the cut.
Meticulous attention to detail continues in the cellar with lees stirring in old oak vats, which adding to the wine's creamy roundness and texture.
Enjoy delicate pear, apricot and wild herb notes of sage make this an exciting white. Gently chill and serve with white meat or fish.
