Enjoy a 92pt, Great Value Shiraz – another triumph for Bleasdale – this always goes down well. “All styles, all price points – Bleasdale does it all so well. This is tip-top with its upfront fruit flavours, spiced plums and black cherries, a touch of kirsch, too. It’s spicy, very juicy and tangy, super vibrant with just enough fruit tannins to add more shape to its barely medium-bodied palate. Nice one. 92pts. Great Value.” (Jane Faulkner, The Halliday Wine Companion).
The name pays homage to Frank Potts’ (Bleasdale’s founder) system of locks and weirs, constructed in the 1850’s and 60’s along the River Bremer, to capture winter floodwaters and irrigate vines.
“Not only one of the most historic wineries in Australia, with over 170 years of continuous winemaking by the direct descendants of the founding Potts family, but one of the LEADING QUALITY PRODUCERS IN THE LAND.” (The Halliday Wine Companion) It has been an exceptional few years for Bleasdale, after winning two of the Australian wine industry's most coveted trophies, Paul Hotker being awarded the Halliday 'Winemaker of the Year 2018', and then, crowned 2024 Halliday Wine Companion Awards – Winery of the Year. Naturally, it finds a place, (no.51) in the Halliday Top 100 wineries.
