The Wine
The Schilds are the oldest family-owned grape growers in the Barossa Valley and are custodians of some of the world’s oldest vines – including a vineyard over 170 years old. The Ben Schild Reserve is the culmination of the estate’s Angus Brae vineyard Shiraz and a carefully selection of French, American and Hungarian oak. It’s clearly a winning combination, as the wine recently won Gold in Germany.
“Picked and bunch-sorted by hand... 18-24 months in French oak (30% new). A high quality wine ticking all the boxes, especially length and balance... 95pts” (Halliday Wine Companion, James Halliday). To 2042.
