Wine Summary
A cracking vintage which exudes bright red berries, black olive, chocolate and cedar. <i>"62% cabernet sauvignon, 20% merlot, 14% carmenere and 4% cabernet franc. The cabernet sauvignon is fermented in closed tanks with some extended maceration, the other varieties open-fermented. Winemaker Charles Whish doesn't make wines by numbers, and ventured to the Clare Valley to find one of the few plantings in Australia of carmenere, a Bordeaux variety. Savoury tannins are an important part of this wine...93pts"</i> (James Halliday).
