Wine of the Month - The Red Sedan

The 1966 Ford Falcon Sedan pictured on the label of this wine is a bit of a head-turner… It turned out to be quite useful in the courting days of the original RedHeads winemaker! It also came in handy when visiting his grower mates. Because it wasn’t a heavy-duty ute for proper winemakers, he got a lot of sympathy from his friends – and managed to squeeze a few more top-class grapes out of them at the same time! Today, the RedHeads winemakers have given in to the lure of the ute, but this wine keeps the memory of the old classic car alive. Picture it driving across South Australia, cruising the road that links the McLaren Vale to the Barossa, looking for the best parcels of grapes. The wine itself is a deliciously moreish and silky blend of Shiraz and Cabernet from some of the best vineyards of South Australia. Look forward to bright red berry fruit with cedary oak and satisfying length.
