The Wine
The William Randell range of wines was created in honour of Thorn-Clarke family ancestor Captain William Richard Randell (1824 - 1911) who at the age of 28, and without any prior experience, designed and commissioned a vessel that would become the first paddle steamer on the Murray River. This special Eden Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is grown at Thorn-Clarke's own estate vineyards – St Kitts and Milton Park. The Real Review's Bob Campbell tasted the 2016 vintage shortly after its release, describing it as "Elegant, powerful Cabernet Sauvignon with classic cassis, blackcurrant, cedar and black olive varietal characters. A taut, high-energy wine that can be appreciated now but has obvious cellaring potential... 95pts". He wasn't wrong about cellaring potential. After many years cellaring, we are re-releasing this exceptional back vintage.
