The Wine
The Riesling grapes specially set aside for the St Andrew's Riesling were gently whole berry pressed, and the juice quickly chilled to just below 10°C, all within roughly 15 minutes of harvest. Quite restrained at release with a linear focus to the palate and purity of fruit flavours. Plenty of fresh lemon/lime juice characters abound with crisp and refreshing lime acidity down the mid-palate. All this is complimented by a persistent and refreshing finish. It sure is a winner, with 7 Golds for the fresh 2023 vintage and counting! "Fragrant with lime curd and sherbet aromas leaping from the glass. Very tightly wound, almost bracing on the palate. Lemon zest notes with crushed chalk and lime leaf undertones. Drives very long with a racy and bone-dry finish. Will richly reward cellaring... 93pts" (Stuart Knox, The Real Review).
