Many a distinguished family name from the Australian wine scene have a hand in Penley Estate – Penfold, Tolley, and even a Paxton lends their viticultural expertise. Cabernet Sauvignon might be what the Coonawarra region is most famous for, but they also deliver outstanding Cabernet Franc. A tad more vibrant than its cousin and often overshadowed in Bordeaux blends. Winemaker Kate Goodman has given it a stage and this Franc certainly brings the X-factor. “Juicy, bouncy, stemmy, crunchy cabernet franc: delicious.
