The Wine
This “slurpy, rich” Barossa GSM comes from the “gifted” Elena Brooks and 5 Red Star Dandelion Vineyards, a venture that combines heirloom vineyards with the finest traditions of artisan winemaking. “This slurpy, rich wine is a meld of 80% of grenache, thankfully but a smidgeon of shiraz, alongside a dollop of the more interesting mataro (5%). Hewn of fruit from abutting blocks and loosely, thus, a field blend. Delicious. Kirsch and smoked meat notes are corralled by some spicy whole-bunch revelry.
