"This a powerful expression from a dry and warm year, but it’s leavened with some suppleness of texture and an energy of delivery – when given air. It has a hard-won quality, with craggy, rocky mineral notes and scrubby dried herbs, fruit notes both red and black – savoury but not desiccated – cured meats, licorice and tar.
