SAVE $98 and relish a delicious Shiraz dozen from South Australian hotspots, Barossa, McLaren Vale, Coonawarra and Langhorne Creek. On display are bestsellers and top producers – with multiple Gold medals and high scores between them. Order two bottles of each for $15.99 and receive a bottle of the luxurious Monterra Reserve McLaren Vale Shiraz 2022, FREE. “Mouthfilling and multi-layered with a prolonged sumptuous finish. 95pts”
(Sam Kim, Wine Orbit). A fabulous mix!
With seven Golds to its name including two Double Golds, and scores between 90-96, this is a delicious Barossa Shiraz that's won plaudits from show judges and critics – and customers too. " Sweetly ripe and perfumed, the wine shows blackberry, dark plum, thyme, clove and roasted nut aromas, followed by a succulent palate that's supple and fleshy. Wonderfully graceful and richly textured with a prolonged delectable finish" (Sam KIm, Wine Orbit).
"A boisterous nose of vanilla, spiced plums and milk chocolate lead into a viscous core of red and black berries. Complexing savoury notes of earth and leather join in too. This is a full-throttle style, vanillin oak adds a layer of flavour and structure. There's freshness, a great feature of this brash full-bodied style of Shiraz which will ensure it ages well" (Gabrielle Poy, The Real Review).
The story of Chalk Hill starts in 1839 when John Harvey arrived in Adelaide, which was then a three-year-old colony of just 6,000 people. Today, Chalk Hill has five vineyards across McLaren Vale, including the Chalk Hill vineyard that was planted in 1969. They pick the Europa Shiraz from multiple blocks, each harvested separately for an extra layer of selectivity. Fermented and matured in seasoned French oak and stainless steel tanks before blending. Juicy red and blue fruits are lifted further by black pepper and vanillin notes. Medium to full bodied. Infinitely approachable.
The Reschke family have owned land in Coonawarra for over 100 years, with vineyards both on the region's famed terra rossa, and in woodland areas. This fine Viulus Shiraz 2021 is a juicy, beautifully balnced treat. Campbell Mattinson in the Halliday Wine Companion praises the flow of flavours – "as seamless as they come". and Sam Kim, Wine Orbit agrees "Wonderfully ripe and enticing, the bouquet shows black/blueberry, vanilla, hazelnut and warm spice characters. The palate is equally satisfying with excellent fruit richness combined with plump mouthfeel and silky texture, finishing superbly long and plush".
Produced from hand-selected fruit from top McLaren Vale vineyards, The Black Pig Shiraz leaps from the glass with sumptuous, rich and ripe blackcurrant tones and vanilla snippets. Oozing lashings of cedar, ripe berries and hints of chocolate this stunning Shiraz is the kind of wine that can drink now with ease, or be laid down for another 8 or so years. Shiraz drinking perfection.
The Limestone Coast region encompasses some of Australia's most revered viticultural land and, without fail, produces reds with both voluptuous fruit and great structure. The 2022 harvest was characterised by its low cropping levels, which resulted in wines of immense power and concentration. The Ravensthorpe Reserve Shiraz captures juicy ripe plum, blackberry, vanilla and spiced fruit cake. A great wine to share with a hearty meal like beef fillet, and with careful cellaring it will continue to improve over the next few years.
A lavishly rich and grand Gold-medal 93pt Barossa Shiraz from ‘the birthplace of the Barossa' as Château Tanunda has been called. It was established in 1890 and is the site of some of the Valley’s first vines planted as well as its first winery. After falling into decline, John Geber, who has owned it since 1998, has restored both the impressive winery building and the estate’s reputation. It truly is grand. And so are its wines – taste this inky black and intense Shiraz beauty and see. Lifted aromas of blackberry, plum, olive and black pepper are accompanied by spicy, dark berry fruits on the palate. The finish is long and silky with fine tannins. 18 months maturation in a combination of French and American oak barrels. The tannins are slowly softening thanks to time in bottle. Gold at Berliner Wine Trophy and 93pts from Wine Orbit!
A fabulous value Shiraz – which has also scooped Double Gold. "...notes of violets, red fruit and hay. Rich and fleshy in the mouth, with juicy, more open flavours in a still firm frame. Meticulous vinification worthy of patience" (International Challenge Gilbert & Gaillard). Our cleanskins make superb everyday drinking, representing offering a much loved variety from a top-quality region without disclosing the precise source. In this instance, a 5 Red Star Halliday-rated estate that must remain anonymous.
