He’s a third-generation winemaker, former winner of World’s Best Red and the man behind bestsellers like Rocksand Shiraz and Vinha do Fava. So this ticks every box for a Black Red fan. But this new inky red has something else. Instead of weighing in at the usual 14% alcohol (or more), this purrs along beautifully at a modest 10%. Not that you’d notice – there’s no dialling back on flavour and concentration whatsoever. Delicious proof that you can have the best of everything. Full-flavour, lighter in alcohol and great value.
