Corbières is known for rugby, boar hunting and wild terroir, and can produce thrilling, superb value reds. This estate’s perfectly sited vines grow on steep, stony slopes, so yields are tiny, the fruit intense. This elegant Grenache-rich champion is made by Guillaume Allien with consultant Gilles Dejean. Aromas of this dark fruited red are brimming with wild herbs, blackberries and licorice, reflecting its Corbières provenance of stony soils and distinctive herbal-scented ‘garrigue’. It has a velvety texture, blackberry and spice flavours. A warming red full of southern French charm that’s perfect with a rich casserole.
