Wine Summary
Sourced from a high altitude, single vineyard in Rosewood, situated in mainland Australia's coolest wine region, Tumbarumba. The hand-picked parcel of Chardonnay was whole bunch pressed and 100% barrel fermented in hogsheads. The 22% new French oak was sourced from Francois Frere with their Tight Grain Medium Light Toast barrels. The Chardonnay spent 10 months in oak with lees stirring done as required. Chardonnay expresses aromas of nectarine, stone fruit and cashews. The palate is delicate and elegant expressing the tight fresh acidity drawn from Tumbarumba’s cool climate conditions. The fruit characters are citrus and fig with the controlled oak helping to bring forward hazelnut notes. Beautifully structured with a lingering finish. "Wonderfully styled and elegantly complex, the bouquet shows ripe stone fruit, lemon pith, vanilla, oatmeal and roasted cashew characters, leading to a superbly concentrated palate that’s both refined and expansive.
