The legendary (and extraordinary) Steve Grimley is not just a brilliant winemaker, he's brilliant at everything. And he has an endless interest in everything too. “More Monte? Yes please!” Yes, there’s something absolutely irresistible about this lovely raspberry and spice-rich Montepulciano. Not surprising, when it’s from the great Steve Grimley! It’s 100% McLaren Vale, but it has the spirit and the flavour of Abruzzo, right down to the bright fruit, exotic spice, dusty tannins and lovely lazy feeling you get after just one sip. Bring on the grilled lamb skewers please!

It’s 100% grown in South Australia, but as winemaker Steve Grimley says, this lavish wine is Italy meets Portugal Down Under. It blends Italy’s famous Nero d’Avola and Barbera comboned with Portugal’s Touriga. "Where to start?” says Steve. “The approach I came up with was to focus on what it is like, not what goes into it.” Let’s just say that if you like you reds inkily rich and decadent, you will LOVE Nero! Wine Summary

How does a Merlot become a Malbec? Well, when winemaker Steve Grimley first started making this wine, he and the grower thought the grapes were Merlot. But when they looked at the not-very-Merlot-like juice samples mid-ferment, they realised they needed to call in an ampelographer. Definitely not a Merlot! It was Malbec, and thus their special Malbec project was born. These days, Steve sources the fruit from the Lopresti vineyard, one of his favourites, which produces wines with alluring warmed fruits and a generous palate. Look forward to musk, strawberry jam and raisin toast aromas on a lavishly generous palate.

Steve Grimley knows a lot about a lot of things, so if he's decided that Durif is the new black, it definitely is! Dense, dark and chocolatey, this McLaren Vale beauty is not so much a little black dress but a velvet smoking jacket, inky and intense. Hand-crafted and given plenty of time in barrel, it's a wine to savour with good friends, good food and great atmosphere. Try it with crusty bread and paté for a decadent experience.
