Bleasdale, still owned and tun by the Potts family has had 165 years of uninterrupted winemaking – and right now is at an all time high. Among many major awards, they’ve won the Jimmy Watson Trophy, Max Schubert Trophy, Halliday's Winemaker of the Year award the 2024 Halliday Wine Companion Awards 'Winery of the Year'. When first released Halliday suggested that this beautiful Langhorne Creek Syrah would need a year to relax and open up. It's had its 12 months and, Halliday is right again, it is drinking beautifully.

Wine Summary

Hungerford Hill chief winemaker Bryan Currie has been making small quantities of Pinot Meunier for almost a decade, using fruit that was planted in the Snowy Mountains high country of Tumbarumba. They usually make an average of 300 dozen from their Pinot Meunier vineyard but this year sourced additional fruit from other Tumbarumba producers. Vibrant wild strawberry and vanilla aromas with purple flowers and a hint of melted butter creaminess to boot! Pristine red fruits on the palate (strawberry, raspberry and pomegranate), complemented by an earthy, forest-floor savouriness. Fine tannin profile, wonderful length. Elegance personified.

Bright and juicy single vineyard Riesling brimming with zesty lemon characters and pink grapefruit with hints of orange blossom and lemongrass. Well balanced and super refreshing. It received 94pts and a red star for exceptional value from Mike Bennie at the Halliday Wine Companion, who notes it is," … loaded with tart, lemony citrus" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit loves its "brilliantly focused palate displaying poise and linear mouthfeel. Captivating and engaging. 96pts"., while Gabrielle Poy in The Real Review sums it up by saying "This is beautifully balanced with crystalline precision. 95pts".
