Wine Summary
Cantine Malavasi is a beautiful wine estate, which mainly produces Lugana - the wine everyone's after - on the southern tip of Lake Garda. Danielle is the 4th generation winemaker – all heart and tradition. Respect for the land is at the heart of his philosophy. Everything is done by hand or, if not by hand, by donkey. He loves donkeys - their intelligence, loyalty and hardworking nature. 15 years ago, he planted a small amount of the Bordeaux grape Petit Verdot as an experiment. He thought it would add colour to his wines, along with the Ancellotta, Italy's darkest hued grape. His Petit Verdot performed so well, he bottled it solo and it's won many international awards. Enjoy it here – a stunner with his mum Agnes's handmade tortellini.
