Wine Summary
Sometimes a change of address works wonders! Take Malbec. This sturdy workhorse of South West France, where it’s known as Cot, is famous for the dark, lip staining wines of Cahors. In Argentina it has blossomed into an altogether fruitier, more voluptuous wine. Miguel Amado Pouget is the man to thank. He’s the French viticulturist who introduced Malbec to Argentina in 1853 and thus became the forefather of the country’s current wine exporting success. So th wine is named in his honour. Top estate Familia Zuccardi took perfectly ripe, old vine Malbec, added spicy Shiraz, and aged both for two years in oak barrels. The result is a voluptuous, silky smooth wine that’s perfect for plate filling steaks, another of Argentina’s specialties.
