Woodstock is home to some very old vines - their bush vine Grenache was planted in the 1930s; their Shiraz dates back to the 1900s. The resulting wines are deeply flavoured and lavishly complex. <i> “Sourced from 90+yo vines grown in sandy soils. Dark garnet- red and concentrated looking. More savoury than sweet on both nose and palate - dry earth and brown spice, then layers of poached plum, mulberry preserve and cranberry sauce. Tannins are fine and smooth, and woven through an uncluttered palate. Maturation without barrels a master stroke ... 95pts” </i> (Halliday).
