Peter Lehmann The Pastor's Son Shiraz 2016
Mighty Barossa Shiraz from the estate of an Aussie hero and wine legend
Peter Lehmann was known as the ‘Baron of the Barossa’ and he helped put the area on the international wine map with his barn-storming Shiraz.
He was also the son of a Lutheran Pastor, hence the name.
James Halliday famously said “It’s not often a person becomes a legend in their
own lifetime”, thanks to Peter’s significant contribution to Australian wine as a
whole. He was fond of ringing the church bells at inopportune moments, and on occasion would sneak out of church to let down the tyres of the congregation!
Classic inky black colour with
generous lashings of peppery dark
plum, juicy morello cherry and chocolate with hints of mint. A delicious match for
venison steaks and peppercorn
