Wine Summary
A superb red that will appeal to lovers of both fine Italian wines and Bordeaux. It's made by award winning Barolo producer Pier Paolo Monti, who founded his estate in 1996 in the heart of the Langhe hills. Having purchased several vineyards, he built a state of the art winery with separate, temperature controlled areas for each phase from fermentation to bottling, and extensive underground cellars for maturing the wines. He produces this unusual 'Super Tuscan' style red from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Nebbiolo grapes, selected from his own vineyards, and matures each variety in French oak for a year. The final assemblage is matured in barrel for six months to make this superbly rich and complex red. A perfect match for roast red meats.
