Wine Summary
Poggerissi is a soft, cherry rich Sangiovese made just like Chianti, from grapes grown within and also from just outside the appellation boundaries. At his third generation family estate in Chianti’s Rufina district, Paolo Masi crafts consistently superb wines. He has done so ever since he graduated top of his class from university in Florence and took over the family property in 1990. He makes a whole range of wines – from crisp whites to Chiantis and intense Super Tuscan reds. 2016 was another very good vintage in Tuscany, with particularly high quality grapes in and around Paolo’s estate. This gorgeous, silky, cherry scented red has attractive, intense fruit and freshness. Elegant, it’s perfect on its own or with pizza, pasta or chicken.
