Wine Summary
The Tarn Valley lies just southwest of Bordeaux (no wonder it's so good for Sauvignon). It was one of the first places the Romans planted their vines. They recognised the hillsides as ideal for vine growing. In fact, the Gauls had discovered that ages before them. On this historic ground, pioneering young winemaker Jean-Noël Barrau is today making exciting wines at the Rabastens cellar in the Gaillac region. He's found that bright sunshine and cooling Atlantic winds are ideal for the Sauvignon grape. So good, this wine won Gold at Paris in 2020. Bright and lemony with delicate pear and apple notes, it makes a lovely glass on its own. Jean Noël also recommends it with baked seabass, grilled prawns and other seafood. Chill down and enjoy.
