Sparkling Shiraz? Yes please! Especially when it's from the "distinguished" (Halliday) Leconfield Estate. Lush Coonawarra Shiraz is fermented and matured on its light yeast lees for several months. The wine is re-fermented under pressure to allow for the natural carbon dioxide to be dissolved into the wine to create the effervescence, then bottled after liqueuring that adds to the creaminess of the palate. Deeply delicious and luxurious, this is a must for lovers of red and sparkling.
