An exclusive alternative to rosé Champagne at a fraction of the price. Made in the perfect cool climate of Limoux, in the same exacting manner as vint
We have offered this exemplary rosé for years and its multitude of awards and 5-Star reviews speak volumes. It is a huge bestseller and especially popular at weddings. Roche Lacour winemaker Viviane Gianesini works her magic beneath the cool hills of Limoux. Here, the monks of Saint Hilaire are said to have mastered sparkling wine methods in 1531, many years ahead of Dom Pérignon of Champagne fame. Bottles back then were fragile and didn’t travel, so their success remained a local secret. This pioneering pink gains its salmon hue in the same manner as the finest Champagnes, from gently pressed Pinot Noir. Enjoy this exquisite rosé when you have something to celebrate. Otherwise, treat opening a bottle as a celebration in its own right!

What’s not to adore about Prosecco? All the sophisticated bubbles of Champagne, yet brighter, more fruity and so affordable. Il Papavero Prosecco is the latest addition to our ‘poppy’ range of wines, and already boasts an army of thirsty fans – it’s just so irresistible. But that should come as no surprise when you consider the heritage of winemaker Scipione Giuliani. This maestro was born in the very heart of the Prosecco region. A true local, he knows all the best winegrowers and went straight to the region's very finest vineyards (usually owned by long standing friends) to source the fruit for this fine fizz. Just one sip will transport you to a smart Venetian piazza. Great value, delicious taste – chill your bottle down and enjoy.

As Anthony Rose wrote: "Champagnes made by local growers are not just affordable, but in many instances superior to the better known big brands" (The Independent). Didier and Karine Chopin are based in the Marne Valley. They bottled their first Champagne in 1989, made from grapes grown on Karine's family's estate. Today they have an estate of their own. This Brut is made from the two black grapes of Champagne, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Five years on lees have lent it considerable richness and complexity. It's a gorgeous drop, and was recently rated in the top 10 Champagnes for Christmas by The Independent, who called it “both fruity and toasty, with light floral aromas.” But don't just save it for Christmas! It's a fabulous celebratory Champagne for all year round.
